Currently, services offered include Acutonics sound healing, neurolinguistic programming (NLP), neuroemotional
technique (NET), shamanic healing, hypnotherapy-style meditation and
guided visualization, aromatherapy, and other
healing for mind, body and spirit. As a clinic intern at the Academy of Five Element Acupuncture, services will include Five Element Acupuncture and treatment with Chinese herbs by separate appointment. The overall approach to healing is informed by years of offering therapeutic massage and bodywork, deep tissue, lymphatic drainage, Tui
Na, Zen Shiatsu, Usui and Karuna Reiki, craniosacral therapy, visceral
manipulation, hydrotherapy, homeopathy, energy healing
exercises for Chinese medical meridians, and chakra and energetic
balancing.
During your first appointment We will review your history and set your goals. In Five Element Acupuncture and for Chinese herbs, your first appointment may consist entirely of consultation. If possible, wear comfortable, loose clothing which allows for stretching. During Acutonics, NLP, NET, energetic healing and shamanic work, you will remain fully clothed. Some acupuncture may require you to undress. You will have time to undress to the necessary level in private, and sheets will be used for coverage and warmth on the massage table. You may be sitting or reclined depending on the treatment. You will may want to remove watches and jewelry. Communication and visualization are encouraged; however, excessive talking during certain types of treatments may detract from your relaxation.
Before the session Please come to our session with a clean body. Eat something before the session, an empty stomach may lead to light-headedness. Avoid intoxicants and stimulants, including coffee, tea and chocolate, or recreational drugs. Inform me of the use of any medications, including over-the-counter medications or pain relievers.
After the session You will have time to reflect on and absorb the work, and to ask questions or discuss post-treatment self-care. Take time for yourself. Drink plenty of pure water. Breathe deeply. With massage, postpone any hard, physical activity for a few hours. An Epsom salt bath may help prevent soreness and help release toxins, enhancing the benefits of the session.
You should notice You should notice immediate changes, and changes over the next several days. If you do not experience significant improvement in three to five sessions, you may need a different type of work. If you have questions after our session, feel free to call. Cancellations/Scheduling 24-Hour notice is required if you need to cancel or reschedule our appointment. Otherwise, you may be charged for the session or have the session deducted from your package. Your prompt arrival for appointments is appreciated. Our session may be shorter and the rate will remain the same should you arrive late for an appointment.
Confidentiality All work and information shared, written or verbal, during our sessions is completely confidential, including client identity. I will discuss or share such information only with your written consent, with the exception of information subpoenaed by a court of law. Please note that if I see you in public, I will wait for you to address me to remain in compliance with HIPPA regulations regarding confidentiality.
Gift Certificates Upon the purchase of gift certificates I prefer to obtain the name, address and phone number of the recipient. If this information is given and the person does not call to schedule an appointment, I will contact the person by phone or mail. If the person does not redeem the certificate before the expiration date, the session reverts back to the purchaser.
Payment Full payment is expected at each session. Other arrangements must be made prior to the session. I currently accept cash and checks in private practice. The acupuncture clinic additionally accepts debit and credit cards. Discounted rates may be available, especially for regular clients and with packages of sessions.
Referrals My work is both an alternative to and an adjunct with other healthcare modalities. I will make referrals to other qualified professionals for conditions or situations beyond my skills and training. I do not diagnose or prescribe for Western medical conditions. It is your responsibility to keep me informed regarding changes in your health and other healthcare treatment. Please refer to your copy of our request for services agreement for further information.
Sexuality All sessions are strictly therapeutic and non-sexual. Although clients may experience physical arousal as a natural physiological response to touch or to enhanced energy flow, I will never be sexual with clients and will do my best to prevent such responses. So long as the client's intention and behavior in receiving work is non-sexual, there is no concern. Advances toward the therapist or exhibition of sexual intention are grounds for terminating the sessions. Full payment will be expected.
I reserve the right to refuse to work with or to terminate a session with any client.
