During your first appointment
We will review your history and set your goals. Wear comfortable, loose clothing which allows for stretching. Massage is best received unclothed, and you will have time to undress to your comfort level in private. You will need to remove watches and jewelry. Sheets will be used for coverage and warmth on the massage table. Communication and visualization are encouraged; however, excessive talking during massage and spa treatments may detract from your relaxation.

Before the session
Shower and eat only a light meal, as a full stomach may lead to discomfort. Avoid intoxicants, stimulants, or other drugs. Inform me of the use of any medications, including over-the-counter medications or pain relievers.

After the session
You will have time to reflect on and absorb the work, and to ask questions or discuss post-treatment self-care. Take time for yourself. Drink plenty of pure water. Breathe deeply. With massage, postpone any hard, physical activity for a few hours. An Epsom salt bath may help prevent soreness and help release toxins, enhancing the benefits of the session.

You should notice
You should notice immediate changes, and changes over the next several days. If you do not experience significant improvement in three sessions, you may need a different type of work. If you have questions after our session, feel free to call. (256) 714-1168

Cancellations/Scheduling
24-Hour notice is required if you need to cancel or reschedule our appointment. Otherwise, you will be charged for the session. Your prompt arrival for appointments is appreciated. Our session may be shorter and the rate will remain the same should you arrive late for an appointment.

Confidentiality
All work and information shared, written or verbal, during our sessions is completely confidential, including client identity. I will discuss or share such information only with your written consent, with the exception of information subpoenaed by a court of law.

Gift Certificates
Upon the purchase of gift certificates I prefer to obtain the name, address and phone number of the recipient. If this information is given and the person does not call to schedule an appointment, I will contact the person by phone or mail. If the person does not redeem the certificate before the expiration date, the session reverts back to the purchaser.

Payment
Full payment is expected at each session. Other arrangements must be made prior to the session. I currently accept cash and checks.  Discounted rates are given for massage and bodywork with regular, repeat clients.

Referrals
My work is both an alternative to and an adjunct with other healthcare modalities. I will make referrals to other qualified professionals for conditions or situations beyond my skills and training. I do not diagnose or prescribe. It is your responsibility to keep me informed regarding changes in your health. Please refer to your copy of our request for services agreement for further information.

Sexuality
All sessions are strictly therapeutic and non-sexual. Although clients may experience physical arousal as a natural physiological response to touch or enhanced energy flow, I will never be sexual with clients and will do my best to prevent such responses. So long as the client's intention and behavior in receiving work is non-sexual, there is no concern. Advances toward the therapist or exhibition of sexual intention are grounds for terminating the sessions. Full payment will be expected.

I reserve the right to refuse to work with or to terminate a session with any client.
