Education has taken me many places in life. Florida is the tenth state that I have lived in. Each place has held great beauty: from lush greenery and thick scents of flowers, to rocky cliffs and chaparal on desert air, to sunrises and sunsets through salty, crashing waves, to blankets of snow in quiet, curving drifts. In each of these places, I have also had animal companions of both the wild and the domesticated natures.
While in undergraduate school, I began to study herbology, healing, and sustainable agriculture. I have periodically practiced martial arts since 1989, including tai chi and qi gong for health and well-being. I graduated from the Boulder College of Massage Therapy and opened my massage practice in 1995. I have continued my education through numerous workshops. I began teaching massage and Reiki natural healing in 1998. In California, I was a full-time massage instructor and clinic supervisor. I studied in the master's degree program at Pacific College of Oriental Medicine in San Diego. In 2008, I began the master's degree program in Five Element Acupuncture and Chinese herbology at the Academy for Five Element Acupuncture in Gainesville, Florida with an expected graduation date of June 2011.
I have traveled in many parts of the United States, Russia, the Ukraine, Germany, Costa Rica and Mexico. I recently traveled in Alaska. For the future, I have dreamed of hiking the Appalachian Trail and learning to dive.
I have a deep acceptance and sense of compassion for people and our animal friends that comes through in my work. Soon, I will be able to offer the gift of five element acupuncture. I sincerely value the opportunity to share what I have
learned, and to continue learning from my students, my clients and
their companions.
